Federer described his looming second round match as being "as tough as it gets for a second round, really." Henman is one of the few players to have won more than he has lost against Federer, a statistic which bothers the champion. "I was absolutely hoping he was not going to be in my section of the draw, knowing how well he can play on grass.
"So obviously it's not a nice draw. Also we're good friends and it is never nice to play against a friend. But somebody's got to win, so I hope it's going to be me."
